Now. If you-- if you don't mind. Be careful. Look, you don't gotta come til the mornin' if you don't wanna go in the Darkness, I get it, we could just keep talkin'--
[And she keeps to her word...though she's five minutes late because the nurses are fussing to try and keep her out while he rests. He can probably hear her snap at one of them before she's in the room, closing the door behind her in an attempt to keep them out.
She doesn't stop or turn away at the sight of him, how thin he is, how pale or how frightened. She doesn't care. She's at his bedside in a heartbeat.]
[He stares at her for just a second-- just a moment for memorizing her expression, reassuring himself that it's really her, that this is really real-- before he reaches forward, kissing her firmly, one hand gripping her shoulder tightly. It's a brief kiss, but he doesn't pull away once he finishes.]
[She doesn't ask for permission to sit beside him on the bed, doing so just to be close to him, just so she can put her arms around him and kiss him. He's alive and he's all right (not quite, not quite all right, but that's for another time), and that's all that matters. She kisses him fervently, so glad to see him, and she pulls away only enough to put their foreheads together.]
[She smiles sadly, one hand going up to touch his cheek and then move to go through his hair, dirty but she doesn't even care at this point.]
You... It's not your fault! It's that damn horrible man and I swear--
[She kisses him again before she finishes, not sure how she even wants to end that sentence. Push him in front of a train, dump him in a well, do everything he's done to Jack and more, corrupt his mind from the inside out for even touching him...
A few tears slip out and she brushes them hastily away.]
I thought I was dead without you. Without you here. And Sirius...
[And Sirius was a dead man walking without Jack. But that doesn't need to be said.]
Okay. Okay, I... Yes, I want to. But even if I didn't, even if you didn't want me to, I'm... I want to stay with you at least for now. With both of you.
[She waits until he's moved before she climbs up better beside him, putting her arms around him again. She can feel how thin he is, and how cold, but she's just glad to have him in her hold again.

Good. He-- he threatened you, he threatened to brin' you in and I thought-- god. God, I thought-- if he touched you, if he ever got near you--
no subject
No. No, no, Jack. He never touched me. I was perfectly safe... [She sighs.] It's all right. It's okay. I'm okay...so long as you are.
no subject
[He hesitates for only a second.]
When can you come?
no subject
[She brushes away her tears with an insistent hand for now.]
Now. Whenever you want.
[Whenever he's ready.]

no subject
[It comes out a little more blustered and forceful than necessary.]
No. I'll be there. I'll... Twenty minutes. Okay?

Jack...
no subject
I missed you. Oh, god, love.
no subject
I'm so glad you're okay. You're here and alive...
no subject
[He bumps their noses together, one hand pushing through her hair.]
I'm here and I ain't goin', god, not ever again. I missed you, I kept thinkin' o' you the whole time--
[He's babbling, kissing her between sentences, desperate to be as close to her as he can.]
no subject
You... It's not your fault! It's that damn horrible man and I swear--

no subject
Don't matter. Don't matter, because I ain't leavin' you again, love. I won't. I won't, I promise, I won't.
[He kisses her hard again.]
I--
[But this isn't the right time and this isn't the right place and he doesn't even have a ring.]
You-- you should come with us. Live in the firehouse with us. Stay with us.
no subject
She sighs, looking at him. She worries at her lower lip for a moment.]
That... That'll be all right?
no subject
[A beat. He glances back at Sirius, still sleeping on the far side of his bed.]
I'll ask him tomorrow. If-- if you want. You don't gotta.
no subject
If he's okay with it. I... I don't want to be away from you. But I don't want things to be odd.
no subject
[He leans in, kissing her again, their fingers intertwining.]
no subject
Okay. Okay, I... Yes, I want to. But even if I didn't, even if you didn't want me to, I'm... I want to stay with you at least for now. With both of you.
no subject
Here, c'mere. Come up here.
[He scoots back, making room for her on the bed, wishing he wasn't wearing something so idiotic as a hospital gown.]
no subject
She kisses his cheek.]
Very accommodating, Jack Kelly.
no subject
[He shivers and snuggles a bit closer to her, throwing a blanket over them both.]
I'd offer you food, but it's crap, it really is.
no subject
I'm not hungry. It's all right. We'll get you something later.
no subject
Nah, I'm--
[He lifts his arm, showing off an IV.]
I'm set.
no subject
Does it hurt?
