[He shivers, his back arching like a cat against her hand. It's a reaction he looks mildly embarrassed about a moment later, and makes up for by kissing her once again.]
[He stares down at her for a moment, looking stunned-- and then darts forward, kissing her neck with renewed vigor. Between kisses, he begins murmuring, his free hand running through her hair.]
God, you're beautiful-- I don't say that enough to you, but you are, you really are-- beautiful and brave and clever as hell--
[Alice stiffens, but not out of revulsion. Physical contact like this is always a little overly stimulating for her, exciting, and she smiles. Her hand brushes his shoulder and squeezes affectionately.]
Probably not. I've lived here a year and I still ain't. I mean, Christ, sometimes I come home and the ceilin' looks like the sky-- that's the next thin' he's workin' on, makin' the ceilin' look like whatever the sky looks like. Though, er, last time he tried he nearly killed us, so.
Excuse me, the rats are on the third floor, the children and grandchildren are fine. Yorick just got a bit o' a scare, that's all, and we fussed over him enough after he didn't even remember.

action;
You do, though--
[She's sure she's blushing now.]
You're wonderful, Jack.
action;
Too much?
action;
Not necessarily. It's simply... I'm not used to it, still.
action;
I keep forgettin' you've never done this before.
action;
I can't remember anyone calling me pretty and actually caring besides my family.
action;
Well, now there's me. And you are pretty and I care a whole hell o' a lot about you, actually, so don't go anywhere.
action;
I don't want to go anywhere. I like being here with you.
[And that's more than she can say for anyone else.]
Re: action;
[He smiles down at her-- kisses her-- and then jerks up as the siren sounds.]
Aw, shit!
action;
It's all right. We have ten minutes.
[She smiles, though, and slides out from under him. She grabs the basket.]
I suppose we'll have the picnic at home, then.
action;
action;
Absolutely.
[She picks up the few things they pulled out and puts them back in the basket.]
...How do we get back?
action;
[He takes her hand and tugs her forward, back down the hill to the cabinet.]
The best part is, nobody can touch it. No monsters'll destroy it.
action;
[She follows him obligingly.]
Or is that some sort of magic as well?
action;
[He cuts off as they go through. Squeezing her hand, he leads them back-- and it's painless, but it's also slightly worrying.]
Yeesh. Anyway, they might be, but guess it don't matter much, long as we keep the doors closed and this end locked.
action;
I wonder if I'll ever get used to this magic business.
action;
action;
[She pauses.]
...Nearly? What happened?

action;
Jack!
